Welcome to Team Clean Stream

River Cleanups are crucial to protecting the waters, woodlands, and wildlife of the New River Watershed. Pollution in the New can harm physical habitat, transport chemical pollutants, threaten aquatic life, and interfere with human uses of the river. However each year we get help from Team Clean Stream, our River Cleanup Volunteers, to remove trash from the river.

How to Get Involved

ATTEND A CLEANUP
Each year New River Conservancy works with our partners
to host several group cleanups throughout the watershed.

- NRC provides the gear
- Outfitters hook you up with boats and shuttles
- NRC will feed and water you after!

MAKE A SPLASH
In addition to River Cleanups, we also hold several events and paddle trips celebrating clean water. Each cleanup season we partner with local outfitters and sponsors to host Splash for the Cash a day of paddling and picnicking while raising money for clean water.
To date we've raised over $21,000 through donations from individuals and local organizations through Splash for the Cash.
