DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the Journey’s End of the New River Expedition 2026 and bid a final farewell to the amazing crew at the historic Gaines Estate in Fayetteville\, WV on Sunday\, August 9\, 2026 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. \nWe are excited to bring to you one final chance to meet the New River Expedition crew live and in person. Talk to Abbey\, Anastasia\, Dave and Lucy about their journey through almost the entirety of the New River\, and their adventures along the way. \nFind out what’s next for the New River Water Trail and the benefits it could bring to your community. \nMeet the Executive Director of the New River Conservancy and many of the staff from the watershed. \nA cocktail hour plus presentation from the crew will be highlights of the afternoon at the Gaines Estate\,  a restored 1920’s era mansion that sits on 192 acres in downtown Fayetteville\, WV .  The estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. \nTickets for this incredible afternoon are just $20 and include hors devours and soft drinks.  A cash bar with beer\, wine and cocktails will be available in the main house for the event. \nTICKETS  \n  \nwww.efergusonphotography.com

DESCRIPTION:Please register for our East River/Adairs Run Clean up and Snorkeling Event on Labor Day\, Sept. 7th from 9:00 am to ~2:00 pm \n\nWhen: 9am to 12pm; lunch/break: 12pm to 1245pm; snorkeling 1245 to ~2pm\n\n.\nWhere: Meet at the parking area where Elgood Mountain Rd meets HWY 460.\nHere are the coordinates: 37.369007\, -80.868022. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7br7jBv3LPPiLsgv7\n.\nClean up: Join our clean stream team and help clean the confluence of two tributaries to the New River. We will be wading in the water.\n.\nOptional snorkeling: After cleaning the banks and the waters\, we will be snorkeling to experience the awesome aquatic life of the New River Watershed. We will have the opportunity to clean up any micro-trash we otherwise missed. Snorkeling is a great way to view the fish and macroinvertebrates hiding under the rippling waters of our streams and rivers.\n.\nTools/equipment: The New River Conservancy will supply tools and equipment (grabbers\, gloves\, trash bags) for the event. We have 10 snorkels & masks available for use.\n.\n\nYou provide: your own wetsuit/kneepads for snorkeling\, or brave the cool waters! Waders may be useful if you intend to wade in the creek\, but are not necessary.
