We will be wading in the water.\n.\nOptional snorkeling: After cleaning the banks and the waters\, we will be snorkeling to experience the awesome aquatic life of the New River Watershed. We will have the opportunity to clean up any micro-trash we otherwise missed. Snorkeling is a great way to view the fish and macroinvertebrates hiding under the rippling waters of our streams and rivers.\n.\nTools/equipment: The New River Conservancy will supply tools and equipment (grabbers\, gloves\, trash bags) for the event. We have 10 snorkels & masks available for use.\n.\n\nYou provide: your own wetsuit/kneepads for snorkeling\, or brave the cool waters! Waders may be useful if you intend to wade in the creek\, but are not necessary. DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with Blacksburg Parks and Recreation and Ameriprise Enterprises in Radford\, VA\, we are happy to be a sponsor of the Paddling Film Festival again this year. We will have a table in the lobby highlighting the New River Water Trail and the New River Expedition. \nThe Paddling Film Festival has been showcasing the world’s best paddling films since 2006. Travel from a river deep in the jungles of Gabon to the monster waves of the Indus in Pakistan; from a scientific exploration by packraft in Patagonia to a 1\,000-mile canoe trip spanning the Pacific to the Arctic; and from finding freedom on the water after a tragic accident to the workshop of a legendary canoe builder. \nThe film begins at 7:00 PM.  Doors open at 6:30 PM. \n. \nAdmission is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of. \n  \n
