DESCRIPTION:Please register for our New River Clean Up from Farmers Fish Camp to the 221 Independence Boat Launch on Saturday July 11\, 2026 \n \nPlease meet at Farmers Fish Camp PFA\, 1314 Farmers Fish Camp Rd\, Sparta\, NC 28675\, at 10:00 AM to set shuttle\n\n\n\nSpring into the New this June and join our clean stream team to help clean North America’s Oldest River.\n\nThe New River Conservancy will supply all tools and equipment for this clean up with additional support from our partners; NC State Parks\, Keep Alleghany Litter Free\, NC Wildlife Federation’s High Country Wild Chapter and NC Works.\n\nDress to get dirty and bring plenty of water as well as a light lunch.\n\nPlease bring your own kayak or canoe if you have them and wear layers you don’t mind getting dirty in.\n\nUpon completion of this registration you will be contacted by New River Conservancy Clean Up Coordinator Will Sowards with further information.\n\nQuestions? They will have traveled 200 miles\, about one third through their trip and will be gearing up for a New River cleanup on Saturday. \nThis is your chance to talk to the crew about the New River Expedition Experience and learn about the New River Water Trail! \nJoin us in Hinton to chat to the crew\, learn about our work in the New River Watershed\, become a member of NRC and sign up for our New River Clean Up on Saturday\, July 18!
