SUMMARY:Big Horse Creek Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:New River Conservancy is proud to partner with Keep Ashe Beautiful (KAB) for a Big Horse Creek Clean Up on Friday\, November 8th.\n.\nThe mission is to clean up as much of Big Horse Creek as possible. We will be joined by volunteers coming up from Raleigh with the North Carolina Land & Water Fund who are eager to help.\n.\nGrab your waders and meet in the Creeper Park by the barn at 9:00 am on the 8th. Trash bags\, gloves\, grabbers etc. will be provided.\n.\nEven if you can just spare an hour or two\, your help is needed to clean out the unprecedented amount of “stuff” in the creek.

DESCRIPTION:New River Conservancy is partnering with Trout Unlimited\, RiverGirl Fishing Co.\, Watauga River Keeper and New River State Park for a South Fork of the New River Clean Up on Saturday\, November 9 at 9:30 am.\n.\nWe will be cleaning the South Fork from Green Valley Park to Todd This stretch of river has a lot of trash in the river (and trees) but not the floodplain due to the amazing work of the Todd community.\n.\nWe will provide trash bags\, gloves\, tire pullers and trash grabbers.\nPlease bring waders\, layer in warm clothes\, food\, and water\nClick here to sign up. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Foster Falls Lower Boat Launch Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:In the aftermath of Helene\, New River Trail State Park is working diligently with emergency response crews and volunteers on relief efforts. \nVolunteers will be provided with necessary equipment\, but it’s advised to bring personal items such as water bottles\, snacks\, and layers of clothing for various weather conditions. Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. Be prepared to protect your personal safety while cleaning up debris after a disaster. Restrooms may not be available at this location. (10-15 volunteers needed)  \nPlease note that personal power equipment such as chainsaws cannot be used on park property by the general public\, and trained sawyer crews are addressing this specific need for debris removal. \nUnless you’re officially selected to participate in volunteer efforts\, please do not show up at the park unless you’ve been communicated to do so. The willingness to help is commendable\, however this requires a coordinated effort to maintain safety and ensure appropriate resources are deployed.
