During the month of October, the New River Conservancy held three separate “Raise a Toast” events throughout the New River Watershed to celebrate 50 years of conservancy and protecting the New River. Events were held at Long Way Brewing in Radford, VA, New River Brewing Co in West Jefferson, NC and lastly, on our actual 50th birthday of becoming the National Committee for the New River, we held one Secret Sandwich Society in Fayetteville, WV. Each event boasted a canoe giveaway.
To help us celebrate our 50th birthday, Esquif Canoe donated three distinct canoes from their incredible canoe line. These canoes became incentive for a membership drive. A lucky member at each event would go home with a brand new Esquif canoe!
