New River Clean Up in Fries, VA pulls 400 pounds of trash from the New

On July 15, we partnered with New River Outdoor Adventures and Carroll County, Virginia to give the Fries, Virginia section of the New River a good cleaning.

6 people including Carroll County Tourism Director, Brooke Love,  New River Outdoor Adventures owner, Timmy Dixon and New River Conservancy Ops Coordinator, Stella Cybulski.  We owe a debt of gratitude also to Keith Andrews, from the New River Wildlife and Conservation Club, Inc for taking care of the trash and tire removal.

Incredibly, this small group pulled out 400 pounds of trash from a 5 mile section of the New River including 12 tires, with 2 being road tractor tires, 4 bags of trash, metal poles, and a child’s  4-wheeler!
