The Big Plant: Radford, VA

The Big Plant is a community event hosted by the New River Conservancy & Nursery Natives.
The event, which began in Blacksburg along Stroubles Creek and continues to this day, is open to the public.
The Big Plant strives to enable positive environmental change for individuals who may think they have no power over their macro-environment.
The Big Plant’s mission is to engage community members in projects that improve landscape resiliency, increase stormwater preparedness, and improve water quality through the planting of native trees and shrubs along waterways.
In Radford the entire project is funded by the VDOF in partnership with New River Conservancy and Nursery Natives, City of Radford, Radford Parks and Rec, Radford Beautification and Municipal Forestry Commission.
