One year after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the New River watershed, western North Carolina and southern Virginia specifically, the New River Conservancy released numbers on river clean ups, volunteers, trash removed, trees planted and tires removed. Volunteers have proven, time and again, that they will show up and clean up in all types of weather to help this river we all love return to pre-Helene health standards.
