New River Conservancy hosted a “Meet & Greet” for their new executive director, Andrew Downs, at the New River Gorge Canyon Rim Visitors Center last Friday, November 22. Over 20 folks braved the snowy conditions to meet and mingle with Downs, several board members and staff.
Some of our guests’ included Nate Sydnor, ED Piney Creek Watershed Association; Maggie Strange, Communications Director for WV Rivers; Andy Davis, new NRC board member & Director of Strategic Redevelopment for the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, Shannon Peffly, owner of Mountain Surf Paddle Sports, plus NPS staff, area business owners and new friends and neighbors like Barbie Dobbins.
