New River Conservancy is excited to participate in the 11th Annual #GIVELOCALNRV
We are hoping to raise $3,000 to help support our educational programs for our youth in Pulaski, Giles,
Montgomery, Carroll and Floyd Counties, as well as Radford City, in the New River Valley.
At New River Conservancy we are committed to protecting the waters, woodlands and wildlife of the New River watershed. Part of this protection includes raising future stewards of the watershed. However, the number of teens in the region who have never been on the New River is shocking. How can our children care about the river if they have
never met it? Never swam in the waters, or dreamed dreams on the banks?
We can teach our children to care for the watershed.
We can teach our children to become stewards of the waters, woodlands and wildlife.
We can teach our children to work towards a healthy and clean New River so that
the grandchildren of their grandchildren have a watershed they can play and live in.
It begins with you. It begins with me. It begins with us all.
Our new office in Draper, Virginia in what is sure to be a highly trafficked area at The Conery,
an ice cream and coffee shop, opened May 2024. We will be able to reach children of all ages
and service these counties better than ever.
50 years ago we set out to fight the big fight against damming the New River in North Carolina & Virginia.
Since then we have worked to protect the New River Watershed from all challenges, including
fighting against apathy of our youth.
Thanks to your support we have been able to create programs all over the watershed
empowering groups and individuals to become better stewards of the New River!
