Meet Steve Trinkle

Steve and his wife, Carolyn, live in Todd, North Carolina in Ashe County. After growing up in Kansas, they spent time in Texas, Utah, and Charlotte, NC before settling in the Blue Ridge mountains in 2018. They have two wonderful adult children, Matthew and Sarah, both living in the Raleigh area.

Steve enjoyed a 35-year career in various executive positions at companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Accenture, and American Airlines. His job took him around the globe including extended stays in Germany and India. Seeing the world allowed him to hone his views of conservation and ecology and the interface with humanity.

After his retiring from business, Steve turned his attention to academia and has earned a Graduate Certificate from Harvard in Philosophy and Ethics and is pleased to be Graduating with an MA in Appalachian Studies focused on Sustainability from Appalachian State.

Outside of his studies, Steve volunteers at multiple organizations including Keep Ashe County Beautiful, the Blue Ridge Conservancy, two bike events – the Brutal and the Hellbender – and joined the board of the New River Conservancy in July 2024.
