Meet Jeff Thompson

Board of Directors

Jeff Thompson has been in the construction business for the past 45 years. He owned a small specialized company that he developed to do high end builds and remodeling, which he sold a year ago.

He has served on the Board of The Florida Yacht Club for four terms and headed the building and grounds committee.  He is currently serving on the Board of the Jacksonville Historical Society and is on the buildings committee for that Board as well. He has also been on the Board of Riverside Rotary in different capacities.

He has watched the New River Conservancy for the last ten years and he knew George Santucci, past Executive Director, and has gotten to know Elizabeth Underwood, current Executive Director. He is familiar with the Conservancy’s mission and he has had property on the New for almost 30 years. He has fallen in love with everything about the river. His favorite thing to do in Ashe county is spend time on his property along the river and in the river as well. Jeff enjoys kayaking, fishing and hiking in the new river area and has organized an annual clean-up of the river in his neighborhood for many years.

He is interested in the Land Protection Committee and the Resource Development Committee.
