Meet Laura Belleville

Board of Directors

Laura lives in Blacksburg, Virginia where she and her family have been enjoying all that the mountains and the New River have to offer. She has been in the region for 20 years after working in conservation in several states, including New York, Florida, Ohio, and across the Appalachians with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Her work has focused on Big Darby Creek watershed protection, one of The Nature Conservancy’s last great places, forest restoration, land acquisition, rare and endangered species recovery, wildfire mitigation, recreation development and stewardship, all while building and integrating community engagement. She is currently a Senior Director of Conservation with the National Forest Foundation.

Laura has served on several national and local boards and was a founding member of the Blue Ridge Discovery Center and the World Trail Network, an international organization supporting trails around the world. In addition, she has enjoyed directly serving the needs in her community as a literacy volunteer in the New River Valley.
