Meet Saul Chase

Saul Chase grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, not far from the C & O Canal and the Potomac River’s magnificent Great Falls. He spent his career as a special education teacher in Madison, Wisconsin, and Avery County, North Carolina.

He served on the Boone Town Council for eight years, and, as the first chair of the Boone Greenway Task Force, guided the development of the 4-mile Boone Greenway walking trail along the North Fork of the New River as it travels through Boone.

He retired to live in Fries, Virginia, where his home is located just a short walk from the New River.

Saul is interested in working with the Government Alliance Task Force to make the shores of the New River more accessible to visitors.
